Now I am going to have to write a new song. This is a great song and a great piece of lyrics. Thanks Chris Whiteley, for letting me know about that and not being mad at me for my error. I told him I was sorry for my mistake and would be only too happy to correct this and so I deleted the old video and re-posted the video recording with the correct information. He was very polite and understanding and when I asked if he'd rather I removed the offending recording altogether he very kindly said that all he really wanted was for me to correct the misinformation and I could re-post it. The truth is I wouldn't have even realized this had he not called me one evening and let know. My apologies to Chris for posting this recording with incorrect information. the writer of this songs is Chris Whiteley. Google told me the writer was one person and several sites confirmed this, as I read it. Thus was the case with the song 'The Man In The Moon' recorded by Prairie Oyster. The trouble is Google and the websites it directs you to aren't always correct. That's where Google comes in handy as it gives me access to information I'd otherwise never know about. That is why the placards in my videos always give credit to the writers when ever I can find out who they were. Anybody can sing a song but, before that can happen, somebody has to write the song. Without them we wouldn't have any of these songs to sing. That being said, if I was going to promote anybody in the industry I'd promote the lyricists who write all of these great songs. I started posting these videos to encourage other amateur musicians to learn more music and try out songs that they might not have heard of. I didn't start posting these videos here to promote anybody, not the recording industry or it's artist or it's song writers or even myself. A lot of the data on the internet is inaccurate or just downright false. So naturally, with the invent of email, social sharing websites and google it is all too easy to rely on what information you get off the web. Now I'm not talking about the Pony Express but snail mail and long distance telephone calls where all we had in my youth. I remember back before the internet, when communicating with folks over great distance cost a lot of money and sometimes took days or even weeks to accomplish.
